SOLITUDE^® IGR is a feed-through fly preventative, shown to be 95-100% effective against flies. SOLITUDE IGR is a trusted fly solution with nearly 20 years of reliability and safety in horses.^1,2,3  It passes through the manure of treated horses to help prevent flies from developing into adults by inhibiting the development of the exoskeleton in fly larvae.

 

How Does it Work?

Cyromazine, the active ingredient in SOLITUDE IGR, safely passes through the horse’s system and is excreted in the manure — stopping the life cycle of house and stable flies at the source.

 

1. SOLITUDE IGR is fed daily to the horse and is excreted in the manure.
2. House and stable flies lay their eggs in the manure, and the eggs hatch into the larval (maggot) stage.
3. As the maturing larvae feed on the treated manure, they become unable to develop into adult flies because cyromazine, the active ingredient in SOLITUDE IGR, inhibits the formation of chitin. Chitin is the base of the fly’s exoskeleton.
4. The immature flies die.

• DO NOT CONTAMINATE WATER OR FOOD, OR FEED NEAR STORAGE AND DISPOSAL. Wastes resulting from the use of this product may be disposed of on-site or at an approved waste disposal facility.
• DO NOT USE IN HORSES INTENDED FOR FOOD PURPOSES.
• Harmful if inhaled or absorbed through the skin.
• Avoid breathing dust and contact with skin or clothing.
• May cause skin sensitization reactions in certain individuals. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling.
• Do not apply directly to water.
• Refer to labeling for first aid information.
